IT Server Support Engineer

Location: Birmingham city centre

Salary: £30k - £40k

Hybrid Working -with travel, based on project priorities and team support

CX Squared have partnered with a Hardware and IT Tech firm whose core values underpin the reasons why they can retain, engage and attract some of the best technical talent in Birmingham and have therefore built a reputable name in the construction and building tech scene.

Due to winning new projects and clients and some exciting investment, 2023 plans to be a year of growth and expansion starting with a new server administrator and 2nd Line IT Engineer.

The business does not have your "traditional" IT teams such as 1st, 2nd or 3rd line, but a team of doers, who enjoy flexibility and variety in responsibilities and supporting the team to get "the job done".

This role will suit someone who could be in a fairly varied role now, who understands the IT Infrastructure and networking environment, who could be in a "second line" type role, doesn't mind getting on the phones to support clients and wants an expansive route into a more 3rd line / infrastructure role, but this role will be anything but "same old" or "boring" IT responsibilities.

Essential Skills:

  • Worked in a variety of IT skills and different environments that include Microsoft and potentially MacOS environments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft InTune and Endpoint
  • Solid experience with the administration of Windows Servers
  • Server configuration experience
  • Networking experience including Network Policy Support and Layer 3
  • VMWare and Hyper-V experience and any virtulisation environment understanding
  • Cisco, Aruba, HPE and a number of others are used within the business so any experience of these would be great.
  • Support of video technology and VOIP systems

Extra Points:

  • Someone who has a homelab and/or built gaming servers
  • System Administration experience with Linux
  • DevOps and containerisation experience
  • Azure knowledge
  • CCTV or Access Control experience
  • AV and lighting experience
