Position: Construction Site Manager
Location: Birmingham but travel required to London when needed.
Salary : £45,000 - £55,000
Overview: We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager to oversee and manage construction projects across Birmingham, the West Midlands and sometimes London. As a Construction Site Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction site management, with a strong understanding of the UK construction industry.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met.
- Monitor progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet project milestones.
- Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team of construction professionals, including site supervisors, contractors, and laborers.
- Assign tasks, provide guidance, and monitor performance to ensure efficient project execution.
- Foster a positive work environment, promoting collaboration, safety, and adherence to quality standards.
- Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations on construction sites.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to minimize accidents and risks.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and address them promptly.
- Cost and Budget Management:
- Monitor project budgets and costs, ensuring effective resource utilization.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to optimize project expenditures.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure construction standards are met.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to identify and resolve any issues promptly.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to address any concerns and ensure client satisfaction.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, architects, and regulatory authorities.
- Provide regular progress reports, including project updates, budget status, and any issues or delays encountered.
- Foster effective communication channels among the project team to facilitate smooth operations.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction site management within the UK.
- Experience of working with design and costing teams for project clarity.
- Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from inception to completion.
- Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations, codes, and best practices.
- CITB Level 3 safety Course certification would be highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- CSCS Card
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address project challenges effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with clients and manage expectations.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- A valid and clean driving license.
