You will be focused on the web builds and managing and maintaining WordPress, the Gutenberg editor, WP blocks, and Gatsby updates.
We are looking for someone who has a preference working with React and Gatsby as these guys have several exciting projects, and all the new builds use this.
Responsibilities:
- Developing new user-facing features using React.js and Gatsby
- Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
- Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code
- Optimising components for maximum performance across a vast array of web capable devices and browsers
- Creating, installing, and maintaining WP sites as a headless CMS
- Integrating WordPress and Gatsby with other systems, such as Shopify Skills
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript
- Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
- Thorough understanding of WordPress is desirable
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and GraphQL
- Thorough knowledge of SCSS or similar
- Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
- Familiarity with build pipelines and tools such as Github Actions, Docker
- Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
- Experience creating and maintaining component libraries and working closely with design teams
- Familiarity with the WordPress API and GraphQL plugins
- Experience with Gatsby creating static sites
