We are looking to build a team of automation engineers and DevOps engineers for a platform as a service technology business that is pushing the boundaries of Artificial Intelligence, in the heart of Birmingham city centre.
This business has technology and innovation running through its veins, from the company directors through every department for this growing and scaling business.

Essential Skills:
- Experience in creating automation solutions
- Understanding of the software development life cycle
- Passion and knowledge of DevOps
- Software engineering principles knowledge
- Happy to mentor apprentice testers
- Knowledge of scripting languages including Python or Ruby
- A keenness to learn new technologies
- Understanding of the software life cycle
- Passion for AI
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of Ansible or similar
- JavaScript experience
- Kubernetes and Serverless technologies
This is a brand new team, which has grown from two to seven and are we are looking to put build an initial team of 3 with more projects on the horizon.

Location: Birmingham Business Park
Salary: £60k - £90k
CX Squared are looking to bring in two senior appointments for a software as a service business based on Birmingham business park which is next to Birmingham Airport.
Due to a restructure they are now looking to bring in a Head of Cloud and Infrastructure who shall be responsible for ensuring that the company's new IT strategy has the right level of infrastructure and operations embedded in to the business for the next 3 -5 years.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that the Company's network infrastructure and associated systems run smoothly, perform within agreed targets, matching the relevant standards and accreditations.
- Responsible for managing the relationship and ongoing expectations with the current external hosting provider.
- Responsible for Vendor management.
- Cloud Infrastructure - including AWS infrastructure relating to all software services and Cloud infrastructure.
- Software Deployment Pipeline - support with the delivery of software into the Cloud as a member of a newly formed DevOps group.
- Microsoft Azure Active Directory services including SSO
- Develop and manage the IT strategy
- Investigate new technologies and propose improvements to the business infrastructure.
- Implement and manage the Company's Disaster recovery plan for the office.
- Manage the Company's application/network security and provide a secure platform for the Company's business operations.
- Manage the relationship with external hosting providers, through regular reviews with the Account Manager.
- Manage the in-house software environment at the hosting provider in conjunction with the provider technical support team and internal team
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated experience transforming IT infrastructure and moving an organisation toward a mature cloud-based (AWS) service delivery model.
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure management in a complex environment with significant reliability and uptime requirements.
- Experience with managing on-prem workloads as well as migrating workloads to Cloud, specifically AWS while optimizing the cost of Cloud based workloads.
- Ability to continue to optimise the cost of Cloud based workloads once they are moved to AWS as part of overall infrastructure cost optimisation.
- Possess some experience and background in infrastructure architecture, systems administration, network administration and storage administration.
- Extensive experience with instrumentation, enterprise monitoring and reporting tools.
- Demonstrates the business and financial acumen necessary to develop and present data-based ideas and solutions in a clear, concise, organised manner.
- Experience managing IP based networks, WAN technologies, virtual server technologies, cloud, DHCP/DNS, MS Office 365, SAN/NAS storage.
- Experience leading, directing, and mentoring IT professionals.
- Solid leadership skills in leading an IT infrastructure function towards Cloud-first operations and DevOps mindset.
- Good organisation change management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
